Falling into Autumn

This color is the essence of Fall to me. Having grown up on the east coast, autumn has always been my favorite season and even though the colors don’t change as dramatically here as they do back east, I still look forward to Fall. I think my love also stems from school starting up again and from the holiday season being just around the corner.

In my anticipation (I know I don’t look excited, but I promise that duck face displays excitement), I bought this blazer and these booties and now I’ve tumbled down the rabbit hole and pulled out all of my tall boots and scarves. Funny thing is that it’s the warmest time of the year right now in SF so I’m just going to have to wait a little while longer. What are you favorite fall pieces that you can’t wait to pull out?

Fall Fashion

With NYFW in full swing, the fall trends are descending upon us from the fashion gods. Shows displaying the fashions for Spring 2015 all attract the fashion icons wearing their favorite fall finds. I gathered some of my favorites for this fall season, what are some of yours?

Both Nina Garcia and Eva Chen are cruising along with their retro inspired looks. The 60’s are making a comeback for fall and you might want to pull out your mom’s old knee high boots and mod patterned dresses.

I love the structured handbag for fall. Crossbody bags have saved me, as I really dislike carrying things (I’m going to be a terrible mom), but the look of some of these structured bags has me reconsidering.

One trend that has gained momentum in the past couple of years is that athletic look. Not only are leggings a wardrobe staple, athletic brands like Gap’s Athleta are now having runway shows and brands are mixing sneakers with their runway looks.

As a lover of all things white (it’s basically my favorite color) I am jumping on this fall trend of the white coat. I love the crisp clean feel they give off and how it can make you look chic even when you’re freezing.

Booties aren’t a new trend but they are coming out in full force for fall. You have the mod version, that is easy for everyday wear with jeans and you have the curved bootie that fits nicely with the cuffed jean or a cute dress and tights.

Fall season also means new colors to look out for, and I know it’s silly but I always read the Pantone Fashion Color Report – just to, you know, see what’s new…

Love n’ Haight

Having a car in SF is a love-haight relationship in and of itself (see what I did there). On the one hand, it’s nice being able to leave the city or drive to the store and get a ton of groceries (or Target bags). But on the other hand, it can be a huge responsibility, and an expensive one at that. It could get towed, or you could get a parking ticket or it could get stolen (not likely but it happened to by boo). Even after seeing all of these things happen to people I still find myself wanting one.

If I did have my own car, I wouldn’t draw unneeded attention to it, or bedazzle it, like this one (resale value is not looking good). But I would wear these bedazzled boots, for the sole purpose of drawing attention to them. I want them, and a car – where is Santa when I need him?
