Portable Lenses

Lenses of all types cost a pretty penny. From contact lenses, to glasses lenses to camera lenses, they are all specially made glass or plastic and they don’t come cheap. I love my DSLR and the quality pictures it produces, but you can’t bring it everywhere (or at least I don’t have big enough bags to bring it everywhere, maybe I should fix that…). One thing you can bring everywhere is your phone (because you already do that), and your handy little detachable lenses with it.

I got these lenses a couple of weeks ago and honestly I have only used one of them since then. But I am working on taking them out more (I got a cute little bag to put them in, so hopefully that is reason enough).

And what’s great about them is that they are magnetic so all you have to do is click them on and then when you’re done they pop right off again. If you’ve looked into getting some of these I would definitely recommend it, I got a three pack but I will go into how each looks and you can pick your favorite if you only want to get one.

First up the Fisheye Lense. This lense has a larger curvature to it to give the image that curved, looking-into-a-fishbowl effect.

The second is the Telephoto lens which brings you up close without you having to move. I stood in the same spot here and it magnified the viewing area for me automatically.

The third lense doubles as two lenses in one. You can use it as a wide angle lense or in really close up macro pictures. The Wide Angle Lense opens the frame a little bit more to take in more of the object.

Macro Lenses help you magnify an object that you are already close to. The first image here is just a regular iPhone close up and the second is the macro image. Not too big of a difference but the colors are brighter, the picture is a little clearer and you can see the veins in the flowers.

I think all of these are great options to a big clunky camera and can add a fun twist to some of your photos. What are your favorite lens tricks, do any of you guys have these magnetic lenses for your phones?
